NOTICE: Recruitment Fraud
It has been brought to our attention that certain individuals or organizations have falsely claimed to recruit on behalf of MITER Brands or one or more of our affiliates (MI Windows and Doors, PGT, Milgard). Recruitment fraud is a growing concern for many companies. It involves criminals impersonating companies and recruiters to trick job seekers into giving them money or personal information. We take recruitment fraud very seriously and provide this information to help you learn how to identify and report recruitment fraud. MITER Brands has no responsibility for fraudulent offers, and we recommend that you do not respond to unsolicited offers of employment or interview invitations from people claiming to work for, or be affiliated with, MITER Brands or any of our affiliate brands.
Job seekers should apply for MITER Brands jobs at Careers | MITER Brands™. Only applicants that have filled out the official application on our career site can be hired and our organization will not request personal information before you have first applied on our career site.
If you believe or suspect that you have received a fraudulent employment solicitation, please reach out to [email protected] with the subject "Recruitment Fraud". You can also review the Federal Trade Commission guidance on protecting yourself online when it comes to job searching.
Identifying Recruitment Fraud
Perpetrators often ask job seekers to provide personal information or to complete fake job applications, so it is important to look for these key warning signs:
- Requests for money to process or assist with a job application – MITER Brands will never ask for money at any point in the recruitment process. We will also never send a check prior to starting employment.
- Requests for personal information – MITER Brands will never request passport or driver’s license information, credit card information, or banking information as part of the recruitment process.
- Misspellings or off-looking communications – MITER Brands only sends offers of employment or onboarding/new hire documents/communications from the [email protected] email address, and you should check for formatting errors, misspellings, pixelated logos, etc. as potential signals of fraudulent activity. Please note MITER Brands will never use direct messaging platforms, such as WhatsApp, to communicate with candidates.
- An insistence on urgency – scammers try to make you act quickly to prevent you from taking the time to realize it’s a scam.
